Release highlights
This release marks include the announcement of our official WordPress plugin!
Official WordPress plugin – The Code Registry – Code Backup & Intelligence
This is a very exciting announcement! We’ve had on our roadmap for a while to goal to develop plugins and apps for various third party marketplaces.
WordPress was an obvious candidate for our first official plugin for another system. Partly because we have extensive experience with WordPress within our team, but mainly because WordPress powers over 38 million websites. 38 million!
That’s a lot of users who can now benefit from our advanced AI-powered code intelligence and insights platform.
And they can now try our platform for free via our new plugin, with a 2 week free trial! After this trial we’re offering a special single-site package that’s only $25 per month!
There’s no payment information required to start the trial so trying our service is completely risk free.
And there’s no technical knowledge required. Any WordPress user can install our plugin, sign up for the trial, and their site’s code is automatically securely packaged, backed up through our API and analysis by our platform.
The results are shown directly in the WordPress dashboard but each user will also be able to access more advanced data and features directly within our web app, without any additional signup required!
We’ve submitted our plugin to the WordPress plugin review team and are now waiting for it to be listed, and once it is we’ll do a further announcement.
In the meantime it can be installed using the attached zip file on this article.
This is our plugin’s landing page within WordPress after it’s installed:
Getting started is a very simple process. Simply enter your name, email and an email verification code:
You then start the free 2 week trial, no need to enter payment information:
Once that’s done we automate the rest! We package up your site’s code including plugins, themes and core WordPress code.
And then you simply wait between 5 and 20 minutes for our analysis to complete:
And we also show you the secured, encrypted, backed up status of your code:
Finally, at any time each user can delete their account from within WordPress, and also see some additional information on the data and tools page:
After the free trial we’re offering each WordPress user a special package that’s only $25 per month. This is to analyze their current WordPress site and continue with the automatic monthly code replications and fresh analysis.
If the user doesn’t continue after the trial, they’ll still be able to access the data and insights we’ve already analysed for them.
Marketplace API
This is our first official API that is not for public use, but will be used for other third party eco-system integrations. This API allows the integration with third party platforms to be fully automated to allow users with technical experience to benefit from our plugins and apps.
So far we plan to develop plugins for the following systems, all using this new Marketplace API:
- Magento / Adobe Commerce
- Shopify (4,400,000+ websites)
- BigCommerce (137,000+ websites)
- Prestashop (232,000+ websites)
- Drupal (474,000+ websites)
- Joomla (2,500,000+ websites)
But we will very likely add more to this list!
Other changes
Improved Dart code complexity analysis
After reviewing feedback with some Dart customers, it turns out that our previous Dart complexity analysis wasn’t completely accurate. It was also quite slow and used a lot of resources.
We’ve completely rewritten this now to be more optimal and make sure that more files are accurately analysed.
Revamped the team member permissions
The way that team member user permissions was stored has been improved. The previous version could lead to some bad data over time, so this was done as a preventative measure planning for the future!
We’ve migrated the permissions data from the old version to the new version so there should be no change from our customer’s perspectives.
Improvements to the reactive scaling mechanism
We have a few infrastructure scaling mechanisms in place across our platform. One of these is our “reactive” scaling which reacts to new user sign ups and manual code vault creations / updates.
We’ve made some changes to this to help with spikes in new user sign ups and spikes in new code vaults being created in a short period of time.
We’re constantly monitoring our resources and any issues so will adjust again as necessary!
Bug fixes
- Fixed a bug which caused an error if someone managed to visit the user onboarding flow before they were subscribed
- Fixed a layout issue for teams that had more than 10 projects in their dashboard
