FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — July 15, 2026

First of its kind New Dedicated Agnostic Software Code Research Institute Established Today

Committed to establishing New Standards and Improving Code Governance for Enterprises in the Age of AI.

PHILADELPHIA, PA and LONDON, UK — July 15, 2026 — Today, The Code Registry, the leading Code Intelligence Platform with the market’s only non-AI-based Code Verification, Validation, Valuation, and Remediation platform, announced along with C# Corner — the world’s largest independent software development community, with over 3,000,000 members — the launch and creation of an independent research and standards institute called “The Code Institute” (www.TheCodeInstitute.AI) to help create the new standards being demanded by enterprises around code governance.

  • 3M+ Members of C# Corner, the world’s largest independent software community
  • 85–90% Of all new software code now written via AI
  • Dec. 1, 2026 Publication of the inaugural “2026 Code Report”
  • Philadelphia · London Institute headquarters

The Code Institute’s mission is to be the standard research institute and body to inform, evaluate, and create best-of-breed code governance standards, rankings, and research to better inform enterprises and governments globally. Today, the AI revolution is creating a trillion-dollar expansion in compute and technology investment worldwide, and software code is being created at an alarmingly fast pace, as 85–90% of all new software is now written via AI. Organizations are being tasked with making sense of their governance risk around this ever more important asset class — code. Today, there is no third-party, agnostic research and standards institute with the capabilities and capacity to understand this new technology shift. The Code Institute’s goal is to fill that void and help the economies of the world enjoy the productivity enhancements brought on by AI code generation while mitigating the new risks around security, validation, verification, remediation, governance, and emerging compliance standards.

Leadership Perspectives

Leaders from the Founding Partners of The Code Institute commented:

“Code is the new data and the new asset that enterprises of all shapes and sizes need to better govern through verification, validation, valuation, and remediation. We created The Code Institute as an independent, member-based organization to allow proper standards and guidelines to take hold to ensure enterprises and governments around the world can better monitor, manage, and protect this new core asset — code,” said Michael Marsh Carter, Co-Founder and Chairman of The Code Registry.

“Our mission at The Code Registry was to help democratize code knowledge. Our initiative with The Code Institute further extends our commitment to agnostic, cutting-edge research to help assure and protect code standards in the age of AI,” added Stephen Gray, Co-Founder and CEO of The Code Registry.

“AI is transforming software development faster than anyone imagined, but one critical piece is still missing: a universal standard for verifying AI-generated code and putting a seal on it. Today, every organization is asking the same questions. Is this code secure? Is it compliant? Can it be trusted in production? Who owns the IP? The Code Institute was created to establish the industry standard for AI-generated software, giving developers, enterprises, and regulators a common framework for trust,” said Mahesh Chand, Founder of C# Corner.

The Code Institute will be publishing its inaugural “2026 Code Report” on December 1st, 2026. Additionally, The Code Institute will release the industry’s first CODEBOM (Code Bill of Materials) to be used to help establish standards for enterprises and governments. This new framework for Code Bill of Materials will be a machine-readable document that provides a comprehensive, structured snapshot of a codebase’s composition, health, security posture, technical debt, quality, and contributor profile.

The Code Institute will convene enterprises, governments, technology providers, and researchers around a shared framework for code governance.
