Into Film Customer Testimonial.
Into Film is a UK-based charity dedicated to helping children and young people learn through and about film. By offering teacher training, educational resources, and nationwide film clubs, Into Film enables educators to harness the power of cinema to spark discussion, foster critical thinking, and nurture creativity in the classroom. Their flagship events, such as the Into Film Festival, reach thousands of schools and youth groups each year, promoting a dynamic and engaging approach to learning through film.
The Problem
As Into Film are a non-profit organisation, they have to be diligent with all expenditure, so when their Chief Technology Officer, Alan Reitsch, joined a conversation with The Code Registry team about his development workflows, he was immediately intrigued by the solution. Into Film had been dealing with a vendor whose underperformance had posed ongoing challenges. Having re-negotiated the contract with this vendor, Alan and his team were looking at ways in which they could achieve greater oversight of their code quality, risk exposure, and compliance requirements.
“We had been struggling with other tools to try and achieve a way to track outputs, better understand how different team members were contributing, and identify potential vulnerabilities or issues earlier on in our development lifecycle” Said Alan Reitsch, CTO of Into Film, adding “What The Code Registry presented seemed like it would tick many boxes for us for a relatively low investment”.

The Solution
After an initial discussion about Into Films existing codebase and team structure The Code Registry set Into Film up with a custom package to suit their needs and Invited both Alan and his Lead Developer into the platform to begin onboarding. From the outset, the team was incredibly impressed with how easy everything was to set up, and how they were able to access insights and value almost immediately. Regular reports offered a clear view of the team’s contributions and commit history, enabling Alan to see exactly how work was progressing without being “in the weeds” day to day. This level of detail highlighted standout performers, particularly lead developers, and also pinpointed those who were not resolving vulnerabilities. With the ability to measure accountability, Into Film found that The Code Registry empowered their internal and vendor teams alike to sharpen their approach and collaboration.
The Results
Since implementing The Code Registry, Into Film has pulled in all major projects and plans to integrate additional, smaller ones going forward. They now feel they have the ability to answer key questions about their risk levels through the gained visibility into dependencies and issues that might otherwise have stayed hidden. The turn-key nature of The Code Registry offered a level of instant transparency and insight they simply weren’t getting from existing tools like Bitbucket and Jira. When asked if Alan would recommend The Code Registry solution to other CTOs and Organizations he replied with “Absolutely, the solution is so simple and easy to set-up and the huge amount of insights and value it delivers” He continued “For companies looking for instant, actionable intelligence on their software development processes, especially if you are relying on external vendors, I can’t think of a better option that The Code Registry”.
